Dogs must be current on Rabies and Distemper/Parvo vaccinations. Proof of vaccination can be submitted through your class enrollment form or emailed to HeartDogBehaviorandTraining@gmail.com.
Please bring your dog in a leash and collar. Harnesses are preferred but not required. Prong collars, chain collars, and shock collars are not permitted in class.
Make-up classes will not be provided for those who miss class due to the nature of our use of the community center. However, homework assignments and supplemental videos will be sent in order to help you stay on track!
If we find that group classes aren’t the right fit for your dog, you will have the option of a partial refund or transferring the fee to a single 1-hour private behavior consultation.
Children are permitted to attend classes with their parents and dogs provided that they remain with their parents and dog, seated calmly or participating in training. Children are not permitted to interact with other dogs in class, and must remain in their dog’s training area for the safety of the child and other dogs in the class.
As group classes require exposure to people and unknown dogs, there is inherent risk of illness and injury. Please do not introduce your dog to other dogs in class without the express permission of the instructor and the dog’s owner.
Please do not bring a sick dog to class. If your dog is coughing, vomiting, having diarrhea, showing round skin lesions, or any other symptoms of illness, please leave them at home to avoid potentially spreading disease!
Please do not bring females in active heat to class, as this can be distracting for other dogs in class. If your dog is sick or in heat, you are welcome and encouraged to attend class without your dog to learn the week’s material!
We strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all humans and their dogs, and ask that class participants do the same. We are determined to provide a class environment free of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or bigotry of any kind. Class members whose words or actions cause others to feel unsafe will be asked not to return to class.
